Since its inception in 2000, the Pleasants Community Foundation, Inc. has worked to assist a variety of charitable organizations start and endow funds to meet many needs in the community. To date, forty-three (43) funds and scholarships have been started.
All of the activities to date have been undertaken by the all volunteer Board of Directors or the Executive Director, Jim Mc Knight. Board members include, Alice Faye Bonnano, Judy Lawhon, Jim McGoldrick, Harold Carl, Becky Ingram Gary Alfred, and Lynn Phair.
In the future, the Foundation's board envisions continuing its efforts to develop an even more broad-based spectrum of charitable funds to address needs throughout the community. As donors indicate interest in contributing to existing funds or in starting funds the assistance the Foundation can render to qualified organizations will expand.
